For many years the tiger model on top of Sandown Fort was a local icon. When it fell into disrepair, however, we decided to remove it. After one last blaze of glory painted pink in aid of Breast Cancer Awareness, the tiger was retired - or so we thought....
Our friends and neighbours thought otherwise, however, and voted for its return. Now, finally, they have their wish. The tiger has been spruced up in honour of the Chinese Year of the Tiger, and it's about to be put back on the fort. Only one things remains - to give it a name.
We haven't even decided if it's a boy or a girl, so if you have a strong opinion on what we should call it, please enter the competition. It's being run by Isle of Wight Radio, and the prize is a three month family admission ticket.
