Introduction

In entering into any transaction using this website you do so on the basis of the following terms and conditions. The terms and conditions of each transaction type are made up of the specific terms relating to the transaction type and the Common Terms.

Gift shop terms

In purchasing items from the online Zootique shop not covered by other terms you are entering into an agreement with Corney Limited, company number 08058005. Any order made will be subject to these specific Zootique shop terms that incorporate the "Common Terms" applicable to all transactions.

Your Information

Please ensure that when making an order the information you provide is correct and complete. If you wish to make any changes to the information you have provided then please inform the Isle of Wight Zoo of these immediately. However the Isle of Wight zoo reserves the right not to act on any requested changes unless it would be unreasonable not to act.

Your Order

When you place an order the cost of items and delivery charges, and estimated timescales for delivery, will be specified in the order acknowledgment email that Corney Ltd will send to you. Corney Ltd will try and ensure that the prices and charges listed at the time of order are accurate, but Corney Ltd cannot accept any liability if the information displayed is incorrect. In the event that an error is made you will be informed by email (sent to the email address you have given us) of the correct price or charge within a reasonable time of Corney Ltd becoming aware of the error and Corney Ltd will ask you whether you wish to continue with your order on the basis of the correct information. If Corney Ltd has not received confirmation from you within a reasonable period of time (in response to Corney Ltd’s email notification of the error) that you wish to proceed, the order will be cancelled.

 

Payment

When you place an order through this website, this will be an offer by you to purchase the Zootique shop items displayed in your shopping basket that Corney Ltd advertised. Corney Ltd will then send you an acknowledgement email listing the items you have ordered. Payment will be taken from your payment card when your order is completed successfully online. Acceptance of your order and the completion of our contract for the sale of the Zootique shop items will take place on the dispatch to you of the items ordered. Ownership of ordered items will pass to you on dispatch.

Dispatch to You

All items are supplied subject to availability and may become unavailable at any time. If Corney Ltd is unable to supply the item within 30 days of your order Corney Ltd will send an email to your contact email address (as supplied by you) to inform you that this is the case.
Corney Ltd will make every effort to dispatch items ordered within 28 working days. Delays will occasionally be inevitable due to unforeseen circumstances such as the unavailability of specific items or factors outside Corney Ltd’s control, for example but not limited to postal problems or industrial action.Corney Ltd will not be liable for any delay or failure to dispatch items within the estimated timescale.

Delivery

Items ordered will usually be delivered by Royal Mail or Parcel Post and Corney Ltd cannot be held liable for any delivery delays following dispatch. In the event of delayed delivery please wait for a period of at least 28 days from the date of dispatch of your order before contacting Corney Ltd.
At present Corney Ltd delivers to the UK only.
All prices listed include VAT (where applicable) and include delivery charges, which will be shown in your email notification from Corney Ltd.
Corney Ltd recommends that you print out and retain your confirmation of dispatch e-mail in case you want to contact us about your order or return items after delivery.

Refund Policy


Defective Goods
Corney Ltd will always accept return of and offer a refund (including original postage and packing costs) for defective goods returned within 14 (fourteen) days of delivery, as long as the item is returned in its original packaging together with a copy of your confirmation of dispatch e-mail. On return please provide a brief description of the fault.

Non Defective Goods Returns and Order Cancellation
Under the Consumer Protection (Distance Selling) Regulations 2000 you have a right to cancel your order and or return an item purchased through the Zootique shop within 7 (seven) days of delivery for any reason. Within a reasonable period of receipt of such returned items Corney Ltd will refund to your payment card both the item costs and the original postage and packing cost. Unfortunately Corney Ltd is not able to refund the cost to you of having items returned to Corney Ltd. Please note that this does not include the right to return perishable items such as food and sweets, periodicals, personalised items, entrance tickets, audio/video recordings or software that you have unsealed and items such as earrings and cosmetics.

Common terms

 

In these terms "Corney Ltd." refers to the organisation relevant to your transaction as specified in the specific terms relating to each transaction type (the "Specific Terms"). The word "Terms" refers to the Specific Terms together with these Common Terms.

Amendments to the Terms

Corney Ltd. reserves the right to make changes to its website, policies, and the Terms at any time. You will be subject to the policies and Terms in force at the time that you use the website and or you enter into any transaction with Corney Ltd., unless any change to those policies or these Terms is required to be made by law or government authority (in which case it will apply to orders previously placed by you). If any of these Terms are deemed invalid, void, or for any reason unenforceable, that term will be deemed severable and will not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining term and the invalid or unenforceable provision will be deemed superseded by a valid, enforceable provision that most closely matches the intent of the original provision and the remainder of the agreement shall continue in effect.

 

Events beyond Corney Ltd.’s reasonable control

 

Corney Ltd. will not be held responsible for any delay or failure to comply with its obligations under these Terms if the delay or failure arises from any cause which is beyond its reasonable control. This term does not affect your statutory rights.

Waiver

If you breach these Terms and Corney Ltd. takes no action, Corney Ltd. will still be entitled to use its rights and remedies in any other situation where you breach these Terms.

Warranty as to Age and Residential Status

You warrant that you are at least 18 years of age and possess the legal authority to enter into any transaction through this website (including instructing us to collect any payments from a payment card or billing account) and to use this website in accordance with the Terms. You agree to be financially responsible for all transactions you undertake through your use of this website (as well as for use of your account by others). You also warrant that you are a resident of the United Kingdom.

Limitation of Liability

Other than liability for death or personal injury resulting from Corney Ltd.’s negligence, Corney Ltd., its employees and or agents shall not be liable for any loss or damage, direct or indirect, howsoever arising out of or in connection with Corney Ltd.’s relationship with you to the extent permitted by law.

In the event that the above exclusion of liability is not effective, Isle of Wight Zoo’s maximum aggregate liability (save in respect of death or personal injury resulting from Isle of Wight Zoo negligence) shall be the amount paid by the claimant to Isle of Wight Zoo in respect of the transaction out of which the claim against Isle of Wight Zoo arose.

Entire Agreement

This agreement constitutes the entire agreement between you and Isle of Wight Zoo in respect of the relevant transaction and it supersedes all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether electronic, oral, or written, between you and Isle of Wight Zoo with respect to the transaction. A printed version of the Terms and of any notice given in electronic form shall be admissible in judicial or administrative proceedings based upon or relating to the Terms to the same extent and subject to the same conditions as other business documents and records originally generated and maintained in printed form.

Third Party Rights

None of the Terms shall be enforceable under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999 by a party other than you or Isle of Wight Zoo.

Law

These Terms are governed by and shall be construed in accordance with English Law, and any claim brought under the Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts. This website is directed to the United Kingdom and therefore certain terms and conditions may not be applicable to non United Kingdom nationals who access this website.

Gift vouchers

Vouchers are only redeemable against Zootique shop purchases.
Voucher cannot be redeemed against entry to the Isle of Wight Zoo.
Valid for one year from the date issued.
This voucher has no cash value.
Tickets are not replaceable or exchangeable if lost or stolen.

Repeat visit vouchers

Valid for 2 weeks from the date issued.
You are eligible to bring the same number of people for your next visit.
Any difference between visitor numbers altering the entrance fees will need to be paid.
Adults and senior citizens must sign voucher and provide approved counter-signatures on return trip to qualify for reduced rate entry.
This voucher has no cash value.                                         
This voucher cannot be used in conjunction with the Isle of Wight resident’s scheme or promotional offer.
Tickets are not replaceable or exchangeable if lost or stolen.

Admission tickets

Valid for one year from the date of issued.
Tickets entitle the bearer to free entry to the Isle of Wight Zoo.
If tickets are purchased in conjunction with the Isle of Wight residents scheme the bearer must provide proof of residency to gain free entry.
This voucher has no cash value.
Tickets are not replaceable or exchangeable if lost or stolen.


Adoption terms

  • In purchasing an adoption of an animal (an "Animal Adoption") at Corney Ltd. you enter into an agreement with Corney Ltd T/A Isle of Wight Zoo, registered company number 08058005 on these adoption specific terms that incorporate the "Common Terms" on this website applicable to all transactions.
  • Each Animal Adoption includes the benefits as stated on the Animal Adoption application web page at the time of making your application only. Corney Ltd. reserves the right to change these benefits at any time and without prior notice.
  • An Animal Adoption may only be in the name of an individual, individuals or groups (i.e. School name or business name) as indicated at the time of application.
  • An Animal Adoption applies to group of animals or a named individual unless specified in advance by Corney Ltd, which will usually be for limited promotional purposes. Adoption does not imply ownership nor does it create any liabilities in respect of an animal.
  • In the event of the group of animals or individual animal of the Animal Adoption ceasing to be on display at the Isle of Wight Zoo due to death or relocation to another collection or any other reason, an alternative animal will be offered for the remainder of the Animal Adoption period. Unfortunately Corney Ltd d cannot offer a refund in such circumstances.
  • Any complimentary tickets issued in conjunction with an Animal Adoption entitle the bearer entrance to the Isle of Wight Zoo as specified on each individual ticket. They are only for one year from the date of the adoption transaction, and are not replaceable or exchangeable if lost or stolen.
  • Entrance to the Isle of Wight Zoo to see a group of animals or individual animal that is the subject of an Animal Adoption does not guarantee that any particular group of animals or individual animal will be on public display at that time.
  • Entrance to the Isle of Wight Zoo in conjunction with an Animal Adoption remains subject to all other Isle of Wight Zoo standard terms and conditions of entry.
  • Delivery of Animal Adoption package is by:
    Royal Mail (allow up to 28 working days)
  • Delivery of the Zoo Review newsletter is by Royal Mail and Corney Ltd cannot be held liable for any delivery delays following despatch.
  • Unless otherwise stated an Animal Adoption runs for a period of 12 months from the date of your approved application.

Hands on Wildlife terms

Corney Ltd Ltd reserves the right to alter the itinerary on any given day due to animal welfare or health issues, but will ensure that if this is the case then the activity will replaced for another similar task or the encounter will be offered on another day.

There will be a charge of £10.00 to cover administration costs if you cancel your booking and require a refund for 'Hands on Wildlife’.

Refunds must be applied for before 3 months of expiry unless due to exceptional circumstances: illness/ injury, pregnancy or bereavement. Once a date has been booked, the experience is non-refundable unless due to exceptional circumstances. This is at Corney Ltd’s discretion.

Once booked, the date cannot be changed unless due to exceptional circumstances.

The recipient name can be exchanged providing Corney Ltd are given a minimum of seven days notice.

The Isle of Wight Zoo reserves the right to ask any participant to leave the site should they behave in an inappropriate or unsafe manner.

Corney Ltd will allocate session slots on a first come, first served basis. It is the participant’s responsibility to book with advance notice to avoid disappointment.

Customers will receive their confirmation within 10 working days of their order.

Participants must be aged 12 years or over. There is no upper age limit, although participants will need a reasonable level of fitness to take part in the activities.

Pregnant women and nursing mothers will not be able to partake in Hands on Wildlife experiences

Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate those with a disability or learning difficulty, due to practicality this cannot always be achieved; please contact the Isle of Wight Zoo for advice . Corney Ltd will endeavour to ensure that all participants have as full an experience as possible.

Corney Ltd reserves the right to change any of the dates for Hands on Wildlife experiences during 2012/2013.

Tiger milk feeding, lemur art and lemur feeding encounters

Tiger milk feeding and lemur art encounters are only valid on selected days.

Once the date has been booked, the experience cannot be rescheduled and is non-refundable unless due to exceptional circumstances: illness/injury, pregnancy or bereavement. This is at Corney Ltd’s discretion.

The reference name can be exchanged providing Corney Ltd are given a minimum of seven working days notice.

The Isle of Wight Zoo reserves the right to ask any participant to leave the site should they behave in an inappropriate or unsafe manner. Alcohol must not be consumed prior to the experience, on the day of the contact session, and the Isle of Wight Zoo reserves the right to refuse the participant the right to take part in the experience if they appear to be  under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

Participants must be aged 12 years or over. There is no upper age limit, although participants will need a reasonable level of fitness to take part in the activities.

Whilst every effort will be made to accommodate those with a disability or learning difficulty, due to practicality this cannot always be achieved; please contact the Isle of Wight Zoo for advice. The Isle of Wight Zoo will endeavour to ensure that all participants have as full an experience as possible.

Pregnant women and those who have given birth within the previous 6 months will not be able to partake in the tiger milk feeding encounter.

Corney Ltd reserves the right to change any of the dates for the animal encounter experiences during 2012/2013.

Corney Ltd reserves the right to alter the content of the experience on any given day due to animal welfare or health issues, but will ensure that if this is the case then the activity will be replaced with another similar task or the encounter will be offered on another day.

Corney Ltd reserves the right to cancel the experience due to unforeseen circumstances.

Corney Ltd will give as much notice as possible but this cannot always be guaranteed.

Membership terms

In purchasing an annual membership at Corney Ltd you enter into an agreement with Corney Ltd., registered company number 08058005  on these adoption specific terms that incorporate the "Common Terms" on this website applicable to all transactions.

Once a membership has been purchased, the membership is non-refundable unless due to exceptional circumstances. This is at Corney Ltd’s discretion.* Corney Ltd reserves the right to change these benefits at any time and without prior notice*

  • Standard Membership is based on a standard 12-month contract and starts on the date of purchase unless agreed otherwise by Corney Ltde.g. for gift memberships
  • Any  card issued with your Membership is for use by the named holder only, and is not transferable under any circumstances. Any misuse of the membership card will result in it being confiscated with no refund. The card cannot be given away, sold or transferred. Membership card photocopies are not valid.
  • Zoo Friend Members are entitled to entry to the Isle of Wight Zoo only, during normal opening hours.
  • Membership cards are not valid after their expiry date and remain the property of Corney Ltd at all times.
  • Admission to the zoo will not be granted under any circumstances without the production of a valid Membership card. If you do not have your card with you on the day of admission, the current full admission charge must be paid which is not refundable.
  • A membership pass may not be valid for entry on certain special events in the zoo calendar (e.g. Bat Evenings) and this will be advertised as such. There will be an additional fee payable for member entry to such events.
  • The Membership card is not a credit card, charge card or cheque guarantee card.
  • An adult must accompany children 16 years old or younger.
  • An administration charge of £3 will be made for lost or replacement Membership cards should you require one. Please call the Membership team prior to your visit so we can take payment and provide you with a temporary access pass.
  • Free car parking when visiting the Isle of Wight Zoo applies to Zoo Friend Members Availability cannot be guaranteed and parking will be on a first come, first served basis.
  • We reserve the right to refuse entry and/or cancel the Membership without refund. In particular if the card holder, or anyone accessing our facilities by virtue of a Membership, behaves in a threatening or abusive way to our staff, contractors or the animal collection, or breaches the terms and conditions relating to access to our facilities membership will be cancelled.
  • Corney Ltd has the right to reject applications for membership or renewal
  • All events are subject to availability. Zoo Friends Membership does not guarantee availability to Isle of Wight Zoo events – applications are to be made on an event by event basis.
  • Zoo Friends benefits and prices may be subject to change at any time. No refunds can be made.
  • Special Offers – Unless otherwise advised, special offers including joining offers are only available once to each Member of the Isle of Wight Zoo. Each offer will also be subject to additional Terms and Conditions.
  • In the event that a payment is rejected by any bank or credit card company then the membership will be suspended until valid payment of the membership fee (and at CorneyLtd’s discretion, payment of any additional costs incurred by Corney Ltd because of the rejection of the payment) is received by ICorney Ltd. If valid payment is not received then membership will be terminated. Any such termination may be back dated to the date when the rejected payment fell due.
  • The Isle of Wight Zoo reserves the right to change opening and closing times of the zoos without prior notice. The Isle of Wight Zoo reserves the right to close or remove some exhibits or areas within the zoos partly, entirely or at certain times of the year for various reasons including, but not limited to, special events and refurbishment.
  • Membership cannot be cancelled during a period which has already been paid for. Membership will automatically terminate at the end of the period you have paid for if payment is not received for the next period.
  • Standard Isle of Wight Zoo terms and conditions apply to all members.
  • 10% discount in the gift shops cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer
  • This agreement does not affect your statutory rights
