An exciting opportunity for an experienced, confident and hands-on café chef has arisen at the Isle of Wight Zoo in Sandown. You will work in partnership with staff across the organisation to ensure a quality catering offer from our Wildheart Café and outside kiosks. Helping to ensure the smooth running of our visitor attraction.
The Wildheart Trust operates out of the Isle of Wight Zoo and is an exciting and vibrant new charity that supports communities, provides sanctuary for rescued animals and delivers conservation projects both at home and abroad. The successful applicant will be integral to enhancing our visitor’s day out by preparing and serving meals and refreshments across the zoos catering outlets that meet the highest possible standards of presentation, quality and service. Working to agreed budgets, you will find ways to maximise sales growth and profit potential which in turn will aid the charity to further its aims in community support and wildlife conservation.
This is a permanent front-line role and does include working regular weekends and Bank Holiday’s.

SITUATION VACANT - Deputy Animal Manager
The Isle of Wight Zoo is part of the The Wildheart Trust; a charity who’s missions is to inspire and empower people to take positive action to protect our planet and the animals we share it with. At the zoo we provide forever homes for big cats and other exotic animals which have predominantly been rescued from circuses or the pet trade.
Situated adjacent to the award-winning Sandown Bay on the Isle of Wight, the location could not be better!
The charity is in a period of exciting change and we have a rare opportunity for someone to join us as our Deputy Animal Manager. In this full-time role you will support the Animal Manager in providing direction in best practice for animal husbandry & welfare. You will also be supervising the implementation and evaluation of the administrative, health and safety, operational and planning function of the animal department.
The successful candidate will assist the Animal Manager in leading the Animal Team to deliver a consistently excellent standard of safety, service and animal welfare whilst continually working to enhance and promote the Zoo and The Wildheart Trust.
