The Garden Club Tea and Talks will take place on the first Tuesday of every month.
These talks will have skilled and knowledgeable horticulturists joining us and talking about their passions, and how they are helping with conservation, education and sustainability. Exploring how horticulture and conservation complement each other and thrive within a Zoo environment.
7th April - Heather Knowles - Wonders of Willow
Our first evening talk will be from Heather Knowles. A skilled and talented Horticulturalist and willow weaver, who has dedicated her time to preserving this beautiful and antediluvian trade. She will be bringing to light the huge benefits willow weaving has on modern day society, and how her skills have been helping the animals here at the Zoo.
All money raised on these evenings will go directly back into the Zoo helping to ensure continued sanctuary for rescued and mis-treated animals from around the world. You can promote our event by sharing our flyer downloadable here.
The Isle of Wight Zoo invites you join us on the 7th of April at 6:30pm to learn about the “Wonders of Willow.” Just £5 with free tea/coffee and cake.
Check back for our next speaker visitng on 5th May - announcement to be made soon!
