We are excited to announce a new opportunity for all novice bird-watching enthusiasts! Dave Fairlamb of Natural Links will explore the bird-watching basics during 2 and a half hour tours of Sandown Bay - from our very own doorstep!

Fairlamb has worked in nature conservation for over 35 years with renowned organisations such as The National Trust, RSPB, Wildfowl & Wetlands Trust and the Wildlife Trust all under his wing. The Great Outdoors is his true passion and as an expert ornithologist, birds and bird-watching have always been a main focus both in his career and home life.

Begin Birdwatching in the Bay

Turn your love of birds into a hobby of a lifetime! Join ornithologist Dave Fairlamb of Natural Links, as he guides you through the first steps of birdwatching with indoor and outdoor sessions along the spectacular coastline and rural areas of Sandown Bay.

“Exploring birdwatching basics, we will look at optics and ID guides, bird identification, bird behaviour and fieldcraft” says Fairlamb.

Sunday 10 February – Wednesday 13 February – Saturday 16 February - Wednesday 20 February – Saturday 23 February – Wednesday 27 February (All sessions run from 9am to 11.30am, meeting at IOW Zoo Reception)
