Half term’s ‘Mane’ event!

Posted on February 08, 2019

This February half term, we need you and your family to help us as we prepare for the arrival of our two rescued lion brothers – Vigo and Kumba.

As can be seen in their picture, Vigo and Kumba never grew the big hairy manes for which lions are so famous. That’s why the zoo needs some truly lionhearted helpers to take part in designing and making manes they think would suit them.

There will be a host of other fun activities to enjoy too including, face painting, lion-themed trails and even food and cake with big cat connections!

As an added bonus to celebrate the lions’ arrival in the coming weeks, any child wearing a mane, lion or tiger costume during half term will receive free admission. Of course, ticket sales for accompanying adults and children that don’t want to dress-up go toward our ongoing work with rescued animals.
