Take a Twilight Safari on the 5th October!

Posted on September 11, 2019

Come and enjoy a magical twilight spectacular at the Isle of Wight Zoo from 5.30pm – 8.00pm on Saturday 5th October.

As the temperature drops and your senses sharpen, there is a great opportunity to see some of our animals in a whole new light, as some bed down for the evening whilst for others the night is just beginning.... with other additional events to entertain, including feeds and enrichment activities, this really is a safari not to be missed .... and a great opportunity to visit the Zoo if you haven’t been for a while too!

Come and be a lion....
There is also a chance to see the new lion accommodation and enclosure. Designed and built by Wilmott Dixon and their associates, the skill sets and labour for the entire project are being donated, but the Zoo needs to raise money for the cost of the materials, hence the Twilight Safari. This is a state-of-the-art building including large viewing windows - so you can get really, really close. The evening provides a great opportunity to see inside the accommodation and prowl the enclosure because the lions won't be moving in before that.... we promise!

Do bring a torch with you as animal viewing, except for timetabled activities, cannot be guaranteed after dusk.

If it’s your appetite that needs satisfying, or your thirst needs quenching, then you can always stop by The Wildheart Café! If you are looking for Christmas present ideas then why not consider giving an Animal Experience or a Annual Membership Pass to a friend or loved one. The Wildheart Shop will be open as well throughout the evening.

This is a charity event and the parking will be free. However, we will be running the evening on donations, so all we ask is for a minimum donation of £5 upon arrival.
