The Animals’ Christmas

Posted on November 07, 2019

Calling all reception and primary schools.... bring your class and enjoy a magical day at the Zoo!

Christmas is a time for giving, so why not come along to the Isle of Wight Zoo and find out how our animal care team enrich our animals’ lives. Animal enrichment expands the animals’ environments. assists with their wellbeing and helps maintain their natural behaviours and instincts.

Suitable for Reception and Primary School groups, your class can then take part in a creative workshop to make enrichment presents for an animal in our care. They can then watch as these presents are given out across the Zoo. These enrichment sessions are tailored to suit the requirements of the National Curriculum.

After your class has enjoyed their enrichment experience and present-giving, they can wind down with a cosy ‘candlelit’ Christmas story, complete with an animal encounter! Each child will receive a small ‘thank you’ gift from the animals.
