HEARTBREAKING DECISION - WE ARE NOW CLOSED - TEMPORARILY - UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
Posted on March 23, 2020
Regretfully the Isle of Wight Zoo has closed to visitors with immediate effect and until further notice following the latest advice from the UK Government.
Our absolute priority is the health and wellbeing of our visitors, staff and animals and we believe this is the right and responsible decision to protect our people, our community and to support the NHS at this difficult time.
How can I support the Isle of Wight Zoo – Home of The Wildheart Trust during these challenging times?
We are a charity and cannot stress enough how important your support is to our Zoo. We rely on visitors and visitation and there are many challenges ahead of us as we face a period of reduced visitation.
As a charity we aim to promote the survival of endangered species through first class educational and recreational experiences, exemplary animal management, conservation and research. We rely on donations and visitors to our Zoo. Without your support we couldn’t look after our animals here at the Isle of Wight Zoo, or continue our conservation partnerships protecting wildlife in India, Madagascar and here on the Isle of Wight.
We know these are uncertain times for everyone but if you can support us, no matter how big or small, you will be making a real difference to the lives of animals and helping us to run our Zoo through this difficult and challenging time. If you’d like to help please donate here (crowdfunder.co.uk/wildheart-trust) or become a member and join us on our journey once we reopen to protect animals for future generations. You can also purchase an adoption pack, which gives you the added bonus of a ticket to see us once this period of uncertainty is over.
Follow us on social media and comment on our posts – we are reading your comments; and your support, and solidarity is important to us.
From all of us at the Isle of Wight Zoo, we wish you well; look after each other, love your local wildlife, and we hope to see you soon.
